More often than not grain-grown mushroom extract is not a mushroom at all but rather a myceliated grain. While myceliated extract isn’t bad for you – containing approx. 80% of grain, it’s definitely not as beneficial as the fruiting body is. Grain-grown mycelium doesn’t contain a near number of beta-d-glucans or other compounds that the fruiting body does.
